Nate’s Place Grand Opening: Serving Need in Ventura County

Parents of Nate Rhoades – Heidi Allison and Larry Rhodes have started a non-profit that will offer recovery and wellness services for Ventura County youth beginning next week. “Nate’s Place wouldn’t be for someone in the middle of an opioid addiction. This program will be after inpatient or detox services.” Nate’s Place will focus on serving at-risk teens and young adults ages 13-25 years.|

Ojai residents Heidi Allison and Larry Rhoades plan to continue their son Nate Rhoades’ work by opening a wellness center for youths struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues. A Nordhoff High School graduate, Nate Rhoades died in January after a car crash in Oxnard. The 21-year-old was a certified fitness trainer who used his talents to help others.

The nonprofit his parents created in his name, Nate’s Place, will provide peer support recovery coaches, counseling, therapy and a place for Alcoholics Anonymous meetings for teens and young adults ages 13 to 25.

A Legacy of Love

(Songs, Videos and Tik Toks dedicated to Nate Rhoades)
Over 100,000 people wait for organs in the U.S. and nearly 17 people die daily waiting for their lifesaving transplant. Even though they were in the midst of their grief, Nate Rhoades’ parents Heidi Allison and Larry Rhoades understood that Nate’s life could live on through others. Nate’s Place wants to share this moving video with others so they can have a glimpse of the life and love that Nate shared with the world.
