Real Conversations. Free Food. Stronger Connections.
Every few months, Nate’s Place hosts Community Education Talks — our free, welcoming events designed to bring people together to learn, connect, and grow.
Held at our center, these events feature engaging guest speakers, free catered meals, and hands-on activities focused on emotional wellness, mental health, and substance use prevention. It’s a chance to learn about real-life challenges facing youth and families, and the tools available to overcome them.
What to Expect:
- Free and open to all—participants, families, and community members welcome
- Catered meals provided at every event
- Guest speakers from local leaders, health professionals, and recovery experts
- Interactive activities that promote learning and connection
- Tour Nate’s Place and meet some of our staff to get a feel for our center
We’ve welcomed speakers from the Oxnard City Council, Assemblymember Steve Bennett’s office, Ventura County Behavioral Health, BRITE, the Family Justice Center, and more. To date, over 326 community members have attended.
Whether you’re looking to better support a loved one, learn about mental health and/or substance use, obtain local resources, tour Nate’s Place, or just connect with others, you belong here!
